Jewish Learning
Judaism is considered our foundation and as such, it is seamlessly interwoven into everything we do. Using a seamless and multi-sensory approach, Jewish holidays and values come alive in the classrooms, cultivating a sense of Jewish identity in our students. The preschoolers share a joyful sense of being Jewish and deepen their knowledge of Eretz Yisrael, Jewish traditions, love for H-shem, values and mitzvot.
At The Nurtury, our goal is not merely to expose children to Jewish ideas and practices, but even more importantly, to build children’s positive feelings about their Jewish identity and to emphasize each child’s future contribution to the well-being of the Jewish people and to the world at large.
Our goal in each classroom is to build a seamlessly integrated curriculum where children’s ongoing interests and explorations connect in meaningful ways to their Jewish learning. Children explore age-appropriate ideas and participate through hands-on experiences, storytelling, and songs. As they move through our program from infancy to toddlerhood to pre-K, children create unique and beautiful projects which express the age-appropriate ideas they have focused upon during a particular Jewish holiday.
There are six basic areas of Jewish learning that we integrated into our Reggio-inspired curriculum and daily classroom routines: (1) Hebrew Literacy (2) Shabbat and Chagim (3) Daily Mitzvot (4) Values and Personal Growth (5) Parsha (6) Tefilah and Berachot.
